Nestling on the banks of the Wye River and looking over to Ross on Wye, the roomy Wilton Court Restaurant enjoys the most idyllic location with its own riverbank front. Guests can also see a variety of other species, including kingfishers, pilgrim falcons and the occasional otter, as swans and ducks glide by.
All eleven ensuite bedrooms overlook either the river or the gardens and are complete with modern facilities. The majority of the rooms have either King or Super King beds. Each room is individually decorated and reflects a warmth of character with either William Morris or Sanderson wallpapers and fabrics. Beams and fireplaces dating from the 16th century have been exposed in the original part of the building which was formerly the Magistrates Court in the 1500’s. There are also ground floor rooms available for less mobile guests.
Wilton Court sits high on the Wye, next to the historic bridge into Ross. A ten-minute walk to the heart of the town, home to small shops, cafe's, galleries and antique emporiums, with the ancient marketplace at the centre of it all. But it is the landscape that is the real star around here and the valley in particular. Seven miles from Ross on Wye is the dramatic Symonds Yat rock towering above the river. Not only does it offer great views of the valley but is one of the best spots to view Peregrine falcons in the UK usually between April and August.
