Opened September 2013 after an extensive refurbishment transforming a former 16th century coaching inn into an open and more inviting space, with stylish and contemporary finishes creating a homely feel combined with a welcoming atmosphere.
The team at The Blue Anchor were awarded an AA rosette in recognition of the quality of the food service and 4 Silver Stars for our rooms in 2019, something we are proud of as a team and have retained since.
The restaurant is open for Lunch and Dinner, serving our classic and a la carte menus Wednesday to Saturday, with breakfast also being served Saturday and Sunday from 9am. Sundays from midday are the chance to enjoy our superb Sunday roasts alongside other dishes from our weekly menus.
Feering is a lovely rural village with a small, local, friendly village feel, yet a strategic location, enabling easy travel from Colchester, Chelmsford and London. Its ancient centre, located around All Saints Church, is listed in the Doomsday book although the village has grown considerably since medieval days and now stretches from the river Blackwater at the border with Kelvedon in the south, to the A120 in the north.
