With sweeping views of the Brisbane River in St Lucia, King College offers residential, conference, function and sporting facilities. 

King's has 280 single rooms of accommodation with shared bathrooms. All rooms have been recently refurbished and include a single bed, desk, chair, telephone and wi-fi internet access.

Other communal facilities include common rooms with comfortable leather sofas and flat screen TVs, a billiard table, a well equipped gymnasium and an 18m swimming pool. There are a number of common areas where guests can relax.

History to the present day

King's College was established in 1913 as a residential college for men attending the University of Queensland. The College was originally situated at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane's inner city. In 1955, the College relocated to the St Lucia campus of the University of Queensland.

Food and Drinks

A cooked breakfast is included in the room price. There are minimal self catering facilities including a fridge and microwave in a common area. Tea and coffee facilities are also available in the common room kitchen. There is one vending machine that offers chips and chocolates in the main administration building.

There is a large common kitchen where our catering team will cook meals at an additional cost for groups of 20 or more.

The College is located within 5 minutes walking distance of buses and a City Cat (ferry) terminal, a local shopping centre with a small supermarket, several restaurants, a newsagent, liquor store and coffee shops.

Grounds and gardens

The College is set in beautiful leafy grounds and has a view of the Brisbane River.

Other facilities

The College has wif-fi internet access and an ethernet cable can be obtained for your room if you require one.

There are a couple of common room with televisions and a billiard table. There is also a well equipped gym, half basketball court and 18 metre pool that can be used by guests.

Laundry facilities are available and free of charge.

The College also provides 24 hour security and luggage can be stored temporarily.

Tourist information is available at the College Reception desk (Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm).

Train: Catch Airtrain from Domestic or International Terminal to Central Station. Then catch a bus or taxi.
