Selwyn offers a great combination of accommodation, close to the city centre - a quick stroll through beautiful gardens.
Selwyn College offers a warm welcome and recently refurbished single ensuite accommodation in Cripps Court. Located on Grange Road within easy access of the M11, the Sidgwick site and a short walk into town. The Porters' Lodge and Dining Hall are in the Old Court on the opposite side of Grange Road.
The College offers single ensuite rooms with shower. Also provided is bedding (two pillows and duvet), bath towel, complimentary soap and shampoo/shower gel, plus tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Please note: The College has confirmed that there will be the construction of a new library and auditorium in Ann’s Court at the northern end of the college starting in Spring 2019 and due for completion late 2020, therefore this will be taking place during bookings in Ann’s Court bedrooms with us. I hope you appreciate that no time is a good time for this kind of construction, however any noisy work will not be permitted before 9am or after 5pm and the builders will work to be as discreet as possible during their time here with us.
History to the present day
Selwyn College takes its name from George Augustus Selwyn , who was the first Bishop of New Zealand (1841-68) and later Bishop of Lichfield (1868-78), and in whose memory the College was founded. The College crest incorporates the Selwyn family arms and those of the Diocese of Lichfield. Selwyn was one of the first colleges to become mixed, admitting women in 1976.

By Car: The easiest way to approach the College by road from the north, south or east is from Junction 12 of the M11. Take the A603 (Barton Road) towards Cambridge. Pass Wolfson College on the left. About 1.5 miles from the M11 you will reach the traffic lights of a pedestrian crossing. Turn left into Grange Road directly after this pedestrian crossing opposite the Hat and Feathers public house. Continue down Grange Road and go straight over the T junction with Sidgwick Avenue and Selwyn College is immediately on the right hand side. Unfortunately, we do not offer on-site parking. Free car parking is available on some of the roads surrounding the College.
