Histoire

Braid Hills Hotel was built in 1886 to accommodate golfers visiting the famous Braid Hills Courses nearby and the hotel has retained much of the period charm to complement the property's modern, Scottish refurbishment.

The area surrounding the hotel has many of Edinburgh's most famous and historic golf courses, several scenic walks and a plentiful supply of the world-famous Victorian architecture which is typical of the Morningside area.

Dining in the 1886 Hotel Restaurant you can choose from a seasonal menu with a Scottish flavour. The magnificent views from this elegantly-appointed restaurant can only enhance the enjoyment of your meal. The wine list is carefully selected to offer both excellent vintages and more modest bottles, at sensible prices. Vegetarian and dietary requirements are fully catered for.

Situated in the Hotel grounds, The Buckstone Kitchen & Bar is a well-known local meeting place. It has its own Conservatory and Terrace and is renowned for the quality of its fine food and real ales.
