Highfield Guest House, City of Edinburgh

The Highfield Guest House is an elegant family run Victorian property in the Newington district of the old town of Edinburgh. We are located close to the University of Edinburgh (King’s Buildings and Appleton Tower) and the Royal Observatory. We are also well positioned for visiting all the main attractions and places of interest this beautiful city of Edinburgh has to offer such as Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and Arthur's Seat. There are frequent bus services to the city centre or for those who prefer to walk, an approximate 30 minutes will take you to the Royal Mile and Princes Street. This is also a perfect base if you wish to venture further and explore the surrounding countryside, bridges, beaches and walks.

The Highfield retains many of its’ original character features and combined with modern comforts will make your stay both enjoyable and memorable. We can accommodate nine people in our two double rooms, one twin room and one family room (max. occupancy 2) all en-suite and one single room with a separate, external private shower room. All our rooms are designed with style, comfort and practicality in mind. Many of our guests have likened their stay to a 'home away from home' in Edinburgh. We welcome children aged ten and over.

We do not offer on-site parking however our residential area has ample free on street parking nearby.

If you require assistance in getting around Edinburgh or would like suggestions on where to eat and drink, arrange tours or take in a show we will be only too happy to assist you and help you to enjoy your visit to its full advantage. Please plan ahead to avoid disappointment as many of the popular attractions and events sell out quickly, especially during Festival time.

Guest rooms are equipped with flat screen TV, radio alarm clock/iPod dock, hairdryer, hospitality tray, toiletries and free Wi-Fi. Daily cleaning until 1pm.

Our 4-star Gold accommodation is completely non-smoking.
