Aperçu

THE OLD RECTORY.

Built in 1810, to house the rector (parish priest) and his curate (trainee priest) The Old Rectory is situated in a charming village which nestles in the lee of the Yorkshire moors.   The sheltered garden features a south facing terrace with views of the Barningham henge, a stone circle which causes much speculation as to its origin.

THE HOSTS

James and Angie are both country lovers.    James is renowned in the thoroughbred racing world and Angie is a trained Cordon Bleu cook, enjoys painting watercolours, gardening, and they both enjoy fishing.

THE LOCATION

There are endless places of interest to visit: Rokeby Park House, Bowes Museum, Barningham Park Gardens, Egglestone Gardens, Thorp Perrow Arboretum, Raby Park and great antique shops in Barnard Castle. Swaledale is 20 minutes away and you will not find a more breathtakingly beautiful drive.   The  walking is stunning be it over the moors, through the woods or down by the river.

ACCOMMODATION.

Accommodation is a double room en-suite in the adjoining Coach House, which is accessed via an external stone staircase with exceptional views over Teesdale and the church.   A large beamed room,  the Coach House features a bee motif - 10% discount is offered to any guest who can find and count them all!   The bathroom has a man-sized bath and separate power shower.

1 Double Room (en suite)  in the Coach House.    £96.00.

No smoking in the bedroom.
