L'hôtel Portsonachan est situé dans l'Argyll, sur la rive sud du Loch Awe, à 14,5 km d'Inveraray. Ses 23 chambres avec salle de bains privative sont toutes équipées d'une connexion Wi-Fi gratuite et d'un permis de pêche. Histoire

A Coaching Inn for several hundred years steeped in history situated on Loch Awe. Loch Awe contains several ruined castles on islands, and at the northern end has one of the most photographed castles in Scotland, Kilchurn Castle a must-see tourist attraction. It was from Loch Awe and the surrounding area that Clan Campbell established itself as a powerful family.

Restauration et Boissons

The dining room runs for over half the length of the front of the hotel. It provides modern Scottish cuisine prepared from local West of Scotland produce and presented with style so as to complement this room overlooking Loch Awe. A wine cellar is available covering most tastes but any personal preferences can be accommodated.

A full Scottish breakfast is served in the conservatory from 8.00am-10.00am. The Cruachan Restaurant has modern Scottish cuisine made from local produce and provides an A La Carte menu from 6.00pm-9.30pm. A bar menu is available from lunchtime till 9.30pm and sandwiches until 6.00pm.

Espaces verts et alentours

On the banks of Loch Awe which is the third-largest freshwater loch in Scotland. It is also the longest freshwater loch in Scotland, measuring 35 kilometres from end to end with an average width of 1 kilometre. Loch Awe is renowned for its trout fishing. However salmon pass through the loch, coming past the barrage in the River Awe and continuing into the River Orchy.

Directions: From Edinburgh: Take M9 road towards Stirling until junction 10 to Callander. Head towards Lochearnhead. Continue on A85 to Crianlarich and then on towards Oban which will take you to Dalmally. Keep on A85 until you see the sign for Inveraray which will take you onto the A819. Travel along this road for 5 miles until you come to the Cladich turnoff. Take this road and follow it for approximately 4 miles.

From Glasgow: Follow the M74 to Glasgow. Follow signs to Glasgow Airport and then to the Erskine Bridge. Cross the bridge and take A82 to Tarbet, then take A83 to Inveraray. From Inveraray take B819 which is signposted Cladich and Ford. Follow this road for approximately 11 miles then turn left to follow the B840 to Portsonachan and Ardbrecknish for around 4miles.
