Storia

The house itself is an architectural bagatelle, begun in 1840 and remodelled in 1900. The half-timbering cries out mock-Tudor, yet the verandas and French windows give it a colonial air. Built as a hunting and fishing lodge, the hotel has a rich history; from the turn of the twentieth century until World War II, it was the only barium spa resort outside of Germany.

This recognises faultless service and inspired menu’s produced by our head chef Sean Cullingford. Using the best fresh local produce and herbs from the garden Sean is able to create a gastronomic feast for you to experience.

The food is complemented by an outstanding list of over 300 wines so you can always find that perfect wine to go with your meal.

The Lake Country House has 50 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds with its own Welsh spa, par 3 golf course, croquet lawn, putting green and tennis court. Some of the best fishing in Wales on 7 miles of river and 3 acre lake within the grounds. We can also arrange horse riding and mountain biking.

Perfectly located on the idyllic banks of the lake, the Kingfisher Spa offers luxurious facilities and service for our Hotel guests. There are four spa treatment rooms and therapists offer a wide range of health and beauty treatments.
