Tweeddale Arms Hotel, East Lothian

A warm welcome awaits you from the owners John and Lynn at The Tweeddale Arms Hotel in Gifford. We are continuing our staged re-furbishment throughout, and hopefully will be finished soon!!

Built circa 1685 and still traditionally Black & White, The Tweeddale Arms Hotel looks out through lime trees to the village Green and the River. Gifford is a sweetly-lying, quaint village at the foot of the Lammremuir Hills with picturesque walks and cylce paths nearby. Gifford is located only 30 minutes drive away from Edinburgh and is within easy reach of 17 of Scotland’s finest golf courses including Muirfield.

Boasting a cosy snug public bar with a log burning stove and real Ales on tap, pool room off, the hotel and the locals are always welcoming to new faces. Doggies are welcome in the bar - on leads please! and the bar has been known to host impromptu music sessions from local singers and gives you everything you could want from a village pub. We also serve food in the bar if preferred.

There is also a family lounge bar/restaurant, which welcomes people of all ages throughout the day for teas & coffees, drinks and bar meals. We offer a quiet, comfortable Coffee Lounge, traditionally furnished and with Log Burner, with Further dining rooms, one with a log burner offering further dining off, are available for private dining. Our Rear Lounge can be hired with sole use of the smaller beer garden to rear. The hotel also has a lovely enclosed beer garden and a function suite with access to the garden making it perfect for weddings or that extra special event.

The hotel is ideally positioned in the centre of Gifford near the village hall and opposite the beautiful village park, is only four miles away from Haddington and offers free Wi-Fi, free parking. There are two golf courses minutes from the hotel.
