Historie

Allerton House is a fine example of Georgian architecture and is reputed to have been built in the late 1700's. Unfortunately, no records exist for the history of the property.

Breakfast is served from 8.00am to 9.00am daily. A selection of cereals, porridge, yoghurt, granola, followed by full Scottish Breakfast or select a combination of local butcher's pork & leek and beef & tomato sausages, haggis from Denholm, unsmoked back bacon, local black pudding from St Boswells, Kelsae mushrooms, grilled tomato and a fried egg. A great choice of alternatives is also available. A choice of preserves along with local honey and homemade sherry marmalade is available. A selection of speciality & fruit teas or decaffeinated coffee is available on request. For guests planning to be hiking for the day, packed lunches can be provided.

The property has extensive landscaped gardens of over half an acre with several seating areas where guests can enjoy a quiet drink. It also has a dedicated children's play area.

Complimentary use of indoor swimming facilities just 300 metres down the road for guests at Allerton House. Allerton is the only accommodation in Jedburgh to offer free swimming facilities. Transportation to and from country walks or other local destinations is available upon request. A library of DVDs & CDs is available to borrow as well as books and magazines. For little ones, Allerton House provides: travel cot, bottle warming facility, babysitting services, special children’s breakfast menu and children’s games in the garden play area.
