Sugar House Close - Unite Students, Edinburgh

Booked 3 nights. Great location for the Fringe! Also only a short walk up Holyrood Park for outstanding views over the city and coast. We were aware that this is student accommodation, so were curious to see what it would be like. We were pleased to get a top floor flat in the Kilns, which meant it was quiet. A surprisingly comfy bed, and good quality linen meant a good night's sleep. Only downside of top floor is that the roof leaked when it rained on the last morning (fortunately missing my laptop). Clearly not the first time that's happened, so a warning (or fix) would have been nice! The flat was basic (you don't expect hotel standard of furnishings) but very spacious, with a good working area. Kitchenette was sparsely equipped - washing up liquid but no brush/cloth/teatowel. No toiletries. Tesco Express only 20 yards away, so not difficult to stock up. As long as you don't expect hotel standards, this is good value - source Google

Staying 5 nights here while visiting the Edinburgh Fringe. Excellent location, backing onto both The Royal Mile and Holyrood Road. 4 of us stayed in a compact flat that contained all the essentials. Provided were: - Towels - Bedding - 1 saucepan and 1 frying pan - Small toiletries Shower very powerful, staff friendly. Fridge freezer very dodgy - don't buy large milk as it will go off. There was also an issue with some of the building doors not opening which was a shame, and limited to two keys per flat. - source Google

Pretty good price and quality student accomodation, close to the Royal Mile. Very secured with card access only to building and room, and main reception. Will be back ! - source Google
