Oversikt

The Victoria League is delighted to offer accommodation at their Student House in Bayswater. Run-on a not-for-profit basis, it is a tidy and well-maintained ‘home away from home'. It's a safe place for young people aged 18 to 30 to stay in London.

Please note there is a House dog on site (non-shedding breed) who frequents the offices.

Historie

The Student House is run by the Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship a not-for-profit organisation that formed in 1901 and named after Queen Victoria.  During WWII, the League provided Commonwealth Servicemen in the UK with accommodation and meals.

The League has provided student hospitality and welfare since 1927 and purchased the Student House property in 1953.

Accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis. Shared kitchens are available to all residents and shared utensils, pots and pans are provided.

There is a terrace for all residents plus access to a shared private garden.

Andre fasiliteter

There are two music practice rooms (bookable with the House Manager), along with a study room and a table tennis table for all residents to use and enjoy.

There is a laundry room available to all residents. The cost of washing is including in the room rates however, residents must provide their own laundry powder/liquid. There is a charge of 50p per 15 minutes to use the tumble dryer which can be purchased in the office.

Staying at The Victoria League Student House was exceptional. Ideally located near Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, it offered quick access to numerous restaurants, pubs, and public transport. My room was spotless, with two cozy beds, ample table space, and a spacious closet. The quiet dorm ensured restful nights, and communal areas—including a kitchen, common room, tennis table, music room, and private park—elevated the experience. Thanks to Laura, Priya and the team; I hope to return soon!

I really loved this stay and will recommend to anyone looking for something in London. It was a great location and offered me a quiet, homey place to come back to each day. I think it is a fantastic budget option for someone who wants a private space with the amenities of a hostel. Kai was really helpful with check in and showing me around. If I’m ever back in London in the summer I’ll definitely try to stay again!

Jeg føler at dette er hemmeligheten bak sentralt beliggende, rimelige overnattingssteder i London som ingen vet om! Vi hadde et herlig opphold. Vi kunne nyte de vakre hagene bak huset, kjøkkenet, musikkrommet og bordtennisrommet, alt mens vi var i hjertet av London. Vi ville bodd her igjen!

The staff members were helpful and kind, making us feel very welcome. It was a positive experience with the room in good condition and many bathrooms. Would highly recommend anyone stay here! Location was great, and there was a lovely garden as well.

Verten var veldig imøtekommende og hyggelig, hun lot oss sjekke inn tidligere og hjalp oss umiddelbart med et problematisk vindu. Vi fikk ekstra tepper gratis mot det kalde været. Dusjen hadde varmt vann og rommet var rent. Anbefales på det sterkeste.

Amazing value! The bathrooms were very clean and the staff was super friendly. The dorms were very quiet as well. It was a great location on top of that. I would highly recommend this place! :)

Staff was super friendly. Room and showers were nice and very clean considering you are in a student house. There was no noise and if I'm in London I will be coming back.

This accommodation is open to people aged 18 to 30 ONLY. Proof of identity including age will be required upon check-in. The Victoria League reserves the right to cancel any bookings and/or refuse entry to those who do not meet this requirement.

Conveniently located close to three tube stations. Bayswater, Queensway and Notting Hill Gate (Royal Oak and Paddington stations also within walking distance). 

Local buses include: 7, 23, 27, 70, 94 and 148.

Paddington and Victoria rail stations are also easily accessible which have rail links to London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW) airports respectively.
