If attending a wedding at GG's Yard/Laggan then Woodlyn is conveniently situated a mere 8 minutes, or 5 miles away from the venue.
Woodlyn is within easy access of a wide range of walking and cycling routes with Galloway Forest Park, the Fleet Valley National Scenic Area and some beautiful sandy beaches located nearby.
Our Guest House is set in the village of Gatehouse but is within easy reach the Laggan Outdoor Adventure Centre with zipwire, archery, and segway activities on offer.
There is a lovely view down to Mossyard beach: a mix of sand, pebble and rock.
For a good day out guests can visit the Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory with cafe and 'make your chocolate' facilities. Guests can also opt to sample the delights of the Cream o' Galloway Ice Cream Factory - some of the best Ice Cream we have personally ever tasted!
Guests can also take walks to Castramon Wood, a 400 year oak wood planted originally to serve the manufacture of Bobbin Reels for the many mills that were in existence in the last century.
We are also very close to National Cycle Route 7 where mountain bikers can meander through the many woods/forests and venture up the hills surrounding Gatehouse of Fleet.
