The Arundell Arms Hotel beats offer a huge variety of fishing on the Tamar and six tributaries, covering over 20 miles of river.
Beat 19: This intimate section of the river Lyd has been lightly fished in recent years and is considered a more “wild” beat on the Arundell’s roster. This Beat has a diverse mix of tree lined waters, with the waters becoming more enclosed and the most interesting in the middle section, located in the woods. This Beat is scheduled to receive considerable amounts of fishery, access and habitat improvements in the winter of 25/26 with the idea to encourage many more anglers to visit this beat moving forward
The Arundell recommends fishing a fly rod with a length anywhere in the 6-9’ range, and weighted #0-4. Dry fly and light duo are the most appropriate methods for this stream, but in slightly higher waters, indicator or euro nymphing is undoubtably the method or choice.
