There is a mini supermarket situated next door to the Lyme Regis building.
There are numerous bars, restaurants and shops nearby the property. Vending machines are available selling drinks and snacks.
The seven mile long beach is only a 15 minute walk away from the accommodation. Go down there for a stroll or to take part in one of the many water sports available. The New Forest National Park with miles of unspoilt ancient landscapes, wild ponies and deer, disused railways and leave lanes offer plenty to do for a day out.
All rooms are equipped with a desk and study chair, wardrobe, bookshelf and free Wi-Fi. Guests are welcome to use the communal areas which have free to air TV, games consoles and pool tables and I-Pads.
Onsite launderette equipped with washers/dryers (for a small charge).
Demonstration kitchen for educational and social use and numerous areas for study are available.
This is my second time at Lyme Regis. Check-in was smooth, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room is basic with ensuite bathroom. There is a large desk area by the window great for my paperwork. My room was quite warm as there is no airflow, but I bought a small fan at Wilkos for £6 and that did the trick. They do not have fans for the rooms. For those that are used to having tea/coffee/kettle in the room, this is not available, but a kettle & mugs can be found in the shared kitchen and you can buy whatever you need at the Tesco's Express downstairs. The shared kitchen was clean and it has everything you need: stove/cooker, full size fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, cutlery, dishes etc., dining table & chairs and 2 couches. It's nice having access to a kitchen. The Lyme Regis building is central to the station, you can walk to the beach, local restaurants or down to the square and public transit is basically right out front. DeletedD

I handed in my form locally and made one or two comments about how things might be clearer for new arrivals who aren't used to the set up, but this was intended to be constructive rather than overly critical of the current set up. Directions:
By Train: Lyme Regis House is easily accessible via public transport. The train station with trains connecting to London, Southampton airport and other destinations, such as Birmingham and Manchester, is only a five to ten minute walk away.
By Air: Southampton airport is the nearest airport and is only a 30 minute train ride away. The train station is right outside the airport entrance/exit. All major London airports are within easy reach via train from Bournemouth.
