We were delighted with our stay overall and individual the staff at the Porters Lodge at New College were wonderful , kind and helpful . Just a little niggle … let’s make a speech about how we please provide a proper beaker for cold next drinks and a decent sized cup for tea or coffee AND sachets of Decaffinated tea and coffee would be lovely ! Thank you bit more flexibility

Excellent place to stay. The room was clean and had the benefit of a fridge. The shower was powerful. There were several flights of stairs but that helped to burn off some calories from the coffee and cakes. Really enjoyed all the museums, theatre and boat trip. Didn't really miss having a television in the room either.

The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Shower worked fine and shampoo, conditioner and soap pack were a welcome surprise. If you're looking for a cost effective central location that you only plan to sleep in, this is a very good deal.

Nice little en-suite room inside the college. Quite clean and compact, with essentials provided. Had a walk around the college in the morning - it is very pretty. Staff members are amazing - friendly and very helpful!

What a fabulous college, I didn't realise how old "New" College is. Great location, too. Room was fine for a short stay, although some herbal teas would have been welcome. Staff were all vey helpful and friendly.

Arrival Information for Main Site, Holywell Street:

The Holywell Street Porters' Lodge is staffed 24 hours a day and is located on the main site on Holywell Street. Once the Porters have checked you in, they will direct you to your room. Please be aware that the rooms in Bodicote House and New College Lane are not on the main site and require a short walk.

Arrival Information for Gradel Quadrangle, Mansfield Road:

Gradel Quadrangles address is Mansfield Road, OX1 3TZ (what3words: ///linen.bump.reason).

Where possible, the Gradel Quadrangle Lodge is generally staffed between 8:00 and 20:00. If no Porter is on duty when you arrive, please visit the Porters' Lodge on Holywell Street (OX1 3BN), which is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When checking out, if no Porter is present, please return your key by depositing it in the black key drop box located on the wall outside the Gradel Quadrangle Lodge.

Please bring your booking confirmation and a form of identification with you.

Directions

Oxford Bus Station, Gloucester Green, is a 10-minute walk away from the Holywell Porters' Lodge. However, many buses/coaches (London/Airport) stop on the High Street/Queens Lane, which is approximately a 6-minute walk away, depending on the stop.

Oxford Train Station, Park End Street, is a 17-minute walk away from College. If you would prefer to get a taxi, this will take around 13 minutes and many waits outside the Station's entrance. Oxford Parkway Station is served from London Marylebone and is a 15-minute taxi ride from the College.

For guests travelling by car, it is recommended to use a Park & Ride. There are numerous Park & Ride stations around Oxford including, Thornhill, Redbridge and Seacourt.

Please note that parking is only available for guests booking the accessible Kimber Wing rooms.
