The Sanctuary of Greccio is one of the four sanctuaries erected by San Francesco in the Holy Valley. Located about 15 km from the provincial capital of Rieti, it is embedded in the rock of the mountains, in the immediate vicinity of the ancient medieval village of Greccio, with a splendid view of the wide Conca Reatina. The Sanctuary is the place where St. Francis on the night of Christmas 1223 represented the Nativity, symbol and pillar of the founding values of the Christian family, with living characters. For the guided tour it is possible to contact the Friars Minor of Lazio.
The property offers its guests 2 dining rooms with fireplace, and a welcoming and friendly staff, attentive to everyone's needs, offering genuine cuisine with typical local dishes. Special menus are available upon request.

FROM NORTH A1 Florence-Rome motorway Orte exit for Terni; follow the signs for Greccio - Rieti Or: Exit the Roma-Nord barrier and follow signs for Rieti. FROM SOUTH Highway A1 Naples - Rome Take the direction of Firenze - Roma Nord. Exit the Roma-Nord barrier and follow the signs for Rieti. From Rieti, towards Terni, take the Greccio exit. Whatever the origin, once you arrive in Greccio, continue on the main road towards the north and follow the signs indicating the direction for the Convent of Greccio.
