Built-in 1733 as a coaching inn and still retains many original features such as wooden beams, fireplaces and traditional brass wear.

Full English breakfast is included and served fresh every day in the award-winning restaurant, which currently holds 2 stars and 2 rosettes from the Automobile Association and further accolades from the Good Hotel Guide and Which Magazine. The Inn offers a choice of dining, from the less formal Brasserie and Bar which serves lunches each day from 12.00pm-1.45pm and supper served each evening from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. For more formal dining, the restaurant offers dinner service each evening from 7.30pm-8.45pm with a daily changing menu and a fixed price four-course menu. Sunday lunch is available from 12.00pm-1.30pm with the option of a fixed-price three-course menu.
