Speech House Hotel, Coleford

历史

Speech House was built in 1676 as a Hunting Lodge for Charles II. It is also home to the Historic Verderers Court, (One of only two in the UK). Verderers meetings are still held here 4 times a year or every 40 days to discuss the management of the vert and venison and other matters appertaining to the Forest.

Enjoy the garden views from the light and comfortable Orangery restaurant and bar. Open from 8.00am to 6.00pm for morning coffee and afternoon teas. Light meals are available from 12.00pm through to 9.00pm with traditional roast dinners available on Sundays lunchtime. For a full Sunday lunch please reserve a table in The Verderer’s Court. Local ales are served in the Bar.

If looking for a more formal dining environment, the beamed Verderer's Court restaurant reflects the room's continuing use as a courthouse for the Forest of Dean Verdes. Serving A la Carte menu which reflects seasonal and local produce.

The Carolean restaurant is also available for private dining events with seating up to 20 guests.

Speech House has a 14-acre field adjacent to the hotel which guests may use and on which many events are held.
