历史

Wycliffe Hall was founded in 1877 as a place to train evangelical clergy in the Church of England, and has since then expanded to take any student of theology.  It started in the main part of the current building (54 Banbury Road), expanding to 52 Banbury Road, which was originally a convent, in 1883.  The Chapel was added to connect the two houses in 1896 and is noted for its architecture and interior panelling.  Other rooms have been added over time, including a dining room (now lecture room) in the style of a chapel in 1910.

食品与饮料

A Continental breakfast is served in the hall each morning, including a selection of cereals, toast, yoghurt, cold meat, cheese, pastries, fruit juice and hot drinks.  Please advise at the time of booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

During the term, breakfast is served at:

  • 7:15 - 8:45am Monday to Friday
  • 8:30 - 9:30am Saturday to Sunday

In vacations, breakfast is served at:

8.00am - 9.00 am on every day.

We had a lovely stay at Wycliffe Hall! The warm welcome and hospitality from Seb was a special and unexpected highlight! The college itself is lovely and we had a cosy room with parking right below. Accessing the centre of town was very easy via a lovely walk or a quick bus ride (two stops). Unfortunately we didn't sample the breakfast as we were up early the next day. Nonetheless we had a lovely stay and would love to come again!

Another fantastic stay at Wycliffe Hall. Sadly there wasn’t an en suite room for the 2 nights we needed so we had a shared room 1 night & en suite for night 2. Interestingly, the cheaper shared bathroom room was better than the costlier en suite. Bed was more comfortable and room was larger. The service by receptionist AND breakfast staff outstanding as always! Parking On site is just brilliant. We will return!

The staff at Wycliffe Hall are always welcoming and a delight. It's good value for money in an excellent location. I will return again. Room 61 is a bit of a challenge as it is on the top floor and through a maze of corridors - I did get lost!

It was a surprising gem. Staff all very friendly and welcoming . Rooms clean and well supplied with complimentary toiletries, towels and refreshments. Good value for money. The use of the common room was a lovely touch, felt like a student!

Kersten checked us in and welcomed us. She described how everything worked and was simply wonderful. Room was well appointed and overlooked the garden at the back-perfect.

Excellent, efficient and helpful service from the staff, Kerstin Jeapes and the man (unfortunately I've forgotten his name) who welcomed me when I arrived.

Accommodation was great - just what we expected. Clean, comfortable, friendly and great location.

An iron in the room would have been handy, otherwise everything was great!
