Überblick

James College is situated in the heart of the University of York campus surrounded by landscaped quadrants and scenic views of the lakeside. Fulford Golf Club is just an 8 minute walk away.

York City Centre is about 15 minutes away by bus or car.

Offering clean and comfortable accommodation, either ensuite bedrooms or bedrooms with shared bathrooms, in the centre of the University of York campus. Breakfast is included in the rate.

Please note that York Conferences at the University of York do not accept stag or hen parties and reserves the right to remove you and your group from the site should you breach these Terms and Conditions.

Geschichte

York is a city famous for the iconic York Minster, exquisite architecture, a tangle of quaint cobbled streets including The Shambles. Boutique shopping, a vibrant café and restaurant culture and world-class museums such as the National Railway Museum and the unique Jorvik Centre make York a wonderful place to visit.

Essen & Getränke

Wentworth College offers The Edge cafe and bar where breakfast is served (8.00am-9.30am Monday to Friday or 8.30-9.30am at weekends) and evening meals can be purchased, with snacks throughout the day. A breakfast ticket will be provided on check-in.

The City of York offers a wealth of bars and restaurants and provides a truly pleasant evening out, whether you are looking for a big night out or a quiet meal.

The University of York offers a wealth of grounds including sports fields, a central lake and a beautiful lawned garden near Heslington Hall. A relaxing place to stay in such a cosmopolitan city.

There are no TVs in the rooms in James College.

Additional toiletries can be obtained from the College Reception for a donation to the college's chosen charity - Jessie's Fund. Jessie's Fund is a UK charity helping seriously ill and disabled children by using music for communication and for therapy.

Special requirements/requests - If you need any further information or have any individual requests please make a note in the "Additional information" section of the booking form or call the telephone number noted on your booking receipt and the vendor will be happy to advise you further on what they can offer.

No Smoking - the campus buildings including bedrooms are strictly no smoking and a charge from £100 upwards will be levied to cover additional cleaning costs required to ensure the room is acceptable for the next guest.

Internet access – City of York’s free WIFI CityConnect is available on campus. Guests can log-in using a social media account, or by filling in a short web form. Once logged-in, the session will remain active for 24 hours.

Cashpoints – there are cash machines and a branch of Santander at Market Square.

Gym and Sports facilities – there is a Sports Centre on campus, speak to the college for information and rates.

Laundry - There are laundrettes on campus – please ask the Receptionist for directions to the nearest one.

Shops – There is a supermarket on campus at Market Square and Kimberlow Lane.

Pets - are not allowed in the property with the exception of assistance dogs, please let the college know if this applies.

Campus – The University is a community with many members of staff and students living on campus throughout the year. Please keep noise to a minimum between 11.00pm and 07.00am and show respect for other guests.

Ein traumhafter Ort mit wundervollem, hilfsbereitem Personal, das alles tat, um unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Die Anlage ist wunderschön – ruhige Spaziergänge um den See bieten die Möglichkeit, Hunderte von Wildvogelarten zu beobachten. Allerdings: Die Matratzen – einige davon sind alt, beschädigt und unbequem und müssten dringend ausgetauscht werden. Für Gäste mit Behinderung: Die Zimmer sind zwar barrierefrei, die schweren Außentüren des Gebäudes sind jedoch weder automatisch noch behindertengerecht.

Ein ausgezeichnetes Angebot! Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich, mit eigenem Bad und perfekter Tee- und Kaffeezubereitungsmöglichkeiten. Ein kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: Ergänzen Sie die Informationen zu den Tee- und Kaffeezubereitungsmöglichkeiten auf der Website und erwähnen Sie, dass Handtücher bereitgestellt werden.

Das Zimmer war ausreichend und die Dusche gut. Das Frühstücksbuffet war umfangreich, die Anordnung der Speisen könnte jedoch verbessert werden, z. B. befanden sich Toast an einem Ende des Raumes und Butter und Marmelade am anderen – das ist nicht sehr logisch.

Das Zimmer war sauber, mit frischen Handtüchern und Toilettenartikeln. Es war einfach, aber sehr komfortabel und sauber. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden, vielen Dank.

Sauberes Zimmer, angemessener Preis, sehr gutes Essen, hilfsbereites Personal. Perfekt, da es direkt auf dem Campus lag, da alle meine Studienveranstaltungen fußläufig erreichbar waren.

Mein Zimmer war für meinen kurzen Aufenthalt perfekt. Es war sehr sicher, da ich meine Zugangskarte dreimal benutzen musste, um ins Zimmer zu gelangen. Sehr ruhig und sauber.
