Visión general

James College is situated in the heart of the University of York campus surrounded by landscaped quadrants and scenic views of the lakeside. Fulford Golf Club is just an 8 minute walk away.

York City Centre is about 15 minutes away by bus or car.

Offering clean and comfortable accommodation, either ensuite bedrooms or bedrooms with shared bathrooms, in the centre of the University of York campus. Breakfast is included in the rate.

Please note that York Conferences at the University of York do not accept stag or hen parties and reserves the right to remove you and your group from the site should you breach these Terms and Conditions.

Historia

York is a city famous for the iconic York Minster, exquisite architecture, a tangle of quaint cobbled streets including The Shambles. Boutique shopping, a vibrant café and restaurant culture and world-class museums such as the National Railway Museum and the unique Jorvik Centre make York a wonderful place to visit.

Wentworth College offers The Edge cafe and bar where breakfast is served (8.00am-9.30am Monday to Friday or 8.30-9.30am at weekends) and evening meals can be purchased, with snacks throughout the day. A breakfast ticket will be provided on check-in.

The City of York offers a wealth of bars and restaurants and provides a truly pleasant evening out, whether you are looking for a big night out or a quiet meal.

The University of York offers a wealth of grounds including sports fields, a central lake and a beautiful lawned garden near Heslington Hall. A relaxing place to stay in such a cosmopolitan city.

There are no TVs in the rooms in James College.

Additional toiletries can be obtained from the College Reception for a donation to the college's chosen charity - Jessie's Fund. Jessie's Fund is a UK charity helping seriously ill and disabled children by using music for communication and for therapy.

Special requirements/requests - If you need any further information or have any individual requests please make a note in the "Additional information" section of the booking form or call the telephone number noted on your booking receipt and the vendor will be happy to advise you further on what they can offer.

No Smoking - the campus buildings including bedrooms are strictly no smoking and a charge from £100 upwards will be levied to cover additional cleaning costs required to ensure the room is acceptable for the next guest.

Internet access – City of York’s free WIFI CityConnect is available on campus. Guests can log-in using a social media account, or by filling in a short web form. Once logged-in, the session will remain active for 24 hours.

Cashpoints – there are cash machines and a branch of Santander at Market Square.

Gym and Sports facilities – there is a Sports Centre on campus, speak to the college for information and rates.

Laundry - There are laundrettes on campus – please ask the Receptionist for directions to the nearest one.

Shops – There is a supermarket on campus at Market Square and Kimberlow Lane.

Pets - are not allowed in the property with the exception of assistance dogs, please let the college know if this applies.

Campus – The University is a community with many members of staff and students living on campus throughout the year. Please keep noise to a minimum between 11.00pm and 07.00am and show respect for other guests.

Un lugar fabuloso y un personal maravilloso y atento que hizo todo lo posible para que nuestra estancia fuera inmejorable. Los jardines son preciosos, ideales para dar tranquilos paseos alrededor del lago y observar cientos de especies de aves silvestres. Sin embargo, los colchones son un problema grave: necesitan urgentemente cambiarlos, ya que están viejos, dañados e incómodos. Además, si tiene alguna discapacidad, las habitaciones están totalmente adaptadas, pero las pesadas puertas exteriores del bloque de alojamiento no son automáticas ni están adaptadas.

La habitación era adecuada y la ducha funcionaba bien. El menú del desayuno era variado, aunque la distribución podría mejorarse; por ejemplo, las tostadas estaban en un extremo de la habitación y la mantequilla y las mermeladas en el otro, lo cual no resulta muy lógico.

Una habitación excelente, limpia y ordenada, con baño privado y cafetera/tetera. Solo una pequeña sugerencia: deberían incluir en la página web información sobre las cafeteras/teteras y mencionar que se proporcionan toallas.

Habitación limpia, buena relación calidad-precio, la comida estaba muy buena, el personal fue muy atento. Fue perfecto estar en el campus, ya que el restaurante al que asistía estaba a pocos pasos de la habitación.

La habitación estaba limpia, con toallas y artículos de aseo nuevos. Sencilla pero muy cómoda, la habitación estaba limpia. El desayuno estaba muy bueno. En general, quedé muy satisfecho, gracias.

Mi habitación fue perfecta para esta corta estancia. Era muy segura, ya que tuve que usar mi tarjeta de acceso tres veces para entrar. Muy tranquila y limpia.
