Coronavirus

Are free cancellations offered due to Covid 19?

Customers who wish to cancel should do so online in the normal fashion. The standard cancellation terms need to apply as they are set by the properties, however don’t forget that you can normally amend your booking dates without penalty, as long as the property has availability for your new dates (if not you could call them to ask them to make some available), and your new booking needs to be the same value or more. This is our way of helping worried customers who feel they want to postpone. If you can't postpone, we recommend you check with your insurer or credit company whether they will compensate you.

Do properties have necessary measures in place to keep me safe?

Any property advertising availability on this website should have the necessary measures in place to keep you safe. We have advised them on measures they should take. For more information, please check their profile on this website in the first instance, and if you can’t find the reassurance you are looking for, please contact the property.

Am I able to travel?

Travel restrictions are being lifted in many areas across Europe but please check local Government advice before travelling. For example, from 10 July the UK has introduced travel corridors with more than 70 global countries (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors) allowing inbound tourists to travel with no requirement to quarantine on arrival.

Bookings

Make a booking

To make a booking please go to the homepage, select the country or city of your choice. Enter your dates and the age of those in your group, you will be shown the available accommodation. You may view the facilities, rooms and prices from there and pay for your booking. If the property or room type that you require isn't showing in the search results, this is because there isn't availability for the dates you have requested.

We are unable to provide tailored quotations for your stay, but it’s really easy to view availability and prices via our website.

Please note this is the only way to make a booking as we are unable to make reservations on your behalf.

Extra Guests

Extra guests are not permitted to stay, unless pre booked. Please book accommodation with sufficient beds for your entire party. In the Additional Information section of the form, guests can enquire for rooms that are adjacent or as close together as possible and the property will do their best to meet the request.

Adjacent Rooms

When you make your booking, please request in the Additional Information section of the form that the rooms are adjacent, or as close together as possible. The person who is allocating your room will then do their utmost to accommodate your request, although they cannot guarantee that this is always possible.

Room definitions

"Single" means a single bed in a room for not more than one person.
"Twin" means two single beds in a room. Not more than two people per room.
A "standard" room typically has a shared bathroom. An indication of the number of rooms per bathroom should be explained in the room description.
"Ensuite" means that this room has its own private WC facilities including a toilet and shower/bath.
"B&B" means “bed and breakfast” – i.e. that breakfast is provided with this room type.
"Room only" means that no breakfast is available for this room type, and that kitchen facilities may be limited.
"Self-catering", means that no breakfast is available for this room type, and that kitchen facilities are provided for you to prepare your own meals.

Children/ Age Restrictions

Each property listed has their own conditions regarding the minimum age of guests and if children are allowed. Age restrictions are set by the property (not by SpeedyBooker) and they have to be adhered to, without exception. Please check the profile of each property as this will detail further information about the specific minimum age.

If you are booking at a Vendor that allows young children, all children over 2 years of age must have their own bed. If you have a child below this age, they are normally (but not always) able to sleep in a travel cot which must be provided by you.

Pricing

Each property can offer several different rates for the same type of room. Each rate can have a different cancellation policy (e,g, non refundable or fully refundable) or different board types (e.g. B&B, full board, room only). Please check your booking confirmation for all the details and the services included in the rate plan you have booked.

Accommodation facilities

The facilities provided in each property are detailed on the specific listing page, please refer to the overview tab where all the text is displayed and also on the amenities tab for an easy recap of the property’s facilities. Linen and towels are provided unless otherwise stated on the listing page.

Groups

If sufficient availability exists for you to make your booking, please book through the website as normal, and you can mention specific requirements (such as catering or meeting rooms) in the Additional Information box of the booking form.

If you are a group of more than 20 people and there is insufficient availability on the website, or you have a query regarding extra requirements such as catering or a meeting room, send a group enquiry. Please note that your enquiry will automatically be sent to any properties in your location of interest which are large enough to accommodate your group. They will respond to you direct, and you can then revert back to those whose quotes are of interest.

Confirmation emails

Confirmation emails are sent out directly after the booking is made to the same email address used to complete the booking.

If your booking was not immediately confirmed this is because we have emailed the property management/owner to ensure they have availability, prior to sending out the confirmation email. You should however receive an email letting you know that the booking is being processed. Wherever possible, we get vendors to guarantee availability so the step for the property to Accept the booking is not required, but in this case, the vendor was not able to guarantee and I think you will agree it is better to avoid a double booking.

Early Check-In

We are afraid an early check in is generally not possible, as the property will be extremely busy during this time and the housekeeping staff requires the maximum amount of time to fully service the rooms. However I’m sure when you arrive they will be as helpful as possible and may be able to provide you somewhere to leave your luggage prior to check in, or change, if required.

Parking

If a property offers parking, this information will be details on the property’s listing. Please be aware that charges may apply if a property has onsite parking for guests. If onsite parking is not available, it is advisable to research alternative parking options in the local area prior to arrival.

Booking Cut-Off Times

The booking cut-off times are decided upon directly by each property. Bookings cannot be taken after the cut-off time as the property does not have the time or the necessary staff on site to prepare the room for arrival. It is not possible for SpeedyBooker to change the cut-off times set by each property.

Amendments & Cancellations

Adding/Removing night(s) from the booking

To add or remove nights from your booking please go to http://www.speedybooker.com/mybooking/. Enter your reference number and password as found on the confirmation email, or log in to your account if you have one, and you can make your amendment (if this option is available) from there by clicking Amend my booking, then changing the dates required and adding or removing the rooms required.

Please note amendments are allowed only if availability exists and non-refundable rates are not amendable.

Alternatively, if you want to add extra nights to your booking, you might find it easier to make a fresh booking through the site, and make a note in Additional Information that you would like to keep the same room, please note that although the accommodation will try their hardest to accommodate your request, retaining the same room is not guaranteed.

Changing room types

To amend the dates of your stay, please go to your booking here https://www.speedybooker.com/mybooking/. Enter your reference number and password as found on the confirmation email, or log in to your account if you have one, and you can make your amendment (if there is sufficient availability) from there. Please note that because SpeedyBooker understand that plans can change unavoidably, you can amend the dates of your stay without penalty as long as it's the same property, the value of the booking doesn't decrease, and only if availability exists. If the value of your booking decreases, we will need to charge you an administration fee to cover the costs of issuing your refund, and possibly cancellation charges also, depending on how many weeks notice you give. Please see our Terms and Conditions (on the bottom of every website) for more information. Please note that if you are amending the rooms to cover multiple date ranges, this will result in multiple booking references.

Changing guest name

To change the name of a guests please go to https://www.speedybooker.com/mybooking/. Enter your reference number and password as found on the confirmation email, or log in to your account if you have one, and you can make your amendment by clicking the Change the name of people in my group section.

Cancelling the whole booking

To cancel the unwanted booking, please go to https://www.speedybooker.com/mybooking/. Enter your reference number and password as found on the confirmation email, or login to your account if you have one, you may cancel your booking from there or instructions to cancel will be provided once logged in.

Moving booking to an alternative property

The properties on our websites all work independently of each other so it is not possible to simply transfer a booking. If the booking has already been made, the booking would need to be cancelled and then a completely new booking should be made as you wish.

Payments

Making payment for your booking

Please note We have no facilities in place to pay by cash/bank transfer/purchase order. The only way to confirm your booking is by paying with Visa Credit, Visa Debit and Mastercard. You need to ensure that the card you have is one that you are able to use for transactions abroad and not just within your own country. Therefore We would advise to check with your Bank provider and they should be able to inform you whether it is or not. Our Gateway payment provider accepts 99% of all major card types. Furthermore, when you do attempt to make a booking again, please make sure that your details when filling out the payment form are entered correctly.

Invoices/VAT Receipts

Unfortunately We do not have the facilities to send out individually tailored receipts or invoices. The booking confirmation you have received includes all the necessary information, including VAT number. At the bottom there is a section entitled “Customer receipt and invoice details” and you will be able to find the VAT (and VAT number).

VAT on most products purchased in the UK can be refunded to a non-EU residents when they leave the country, but unfortunately VAT on accommodation is not refundable. For more details, see the HMRC website: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat/sectors/consumers/overseas-visitors.htm.

Troubleshooting with payments and bookings

Items not appearing on the basket. - Our websites require cookies to be enabled to work properly so please make sure your computer has cookies enabled. If cookies are enabled and you are still experiencing problems, please clear your browser history, cookies and cache, then close the browser down and reopen and start the process again. If this does not work, and you are using a work computer, your employer may have strict security measures in place which does not permit you to enter into our booking form/final payment section, resulting in a rejection or receiving a “No bookings found” message. In this instance we suggest using an alternate computer or requesting your IT team to allow the (perhaps temporary) use of cookies and thereby enable the booking.

It is always worthwhile double checking all details entered, prior to contacting your bank to find out more information about why the transaction could not be processed.

We currently do not advertise any discount or voucher codes on third-party websites, and we are not affiliated with such companies in any way. You’ll always hear about any discount or voucher codes directly from us first, either via our social media or newsletter.
