Overview

Alexander Fleming House is located in the business district of London, near St Paul's Cathedral and the Barbican Arts Centre. This part of London is very diverse in its culture and atmosphere, attracting artists and designers as well as large financial institutions and banks. Close by are the colourful markets of the East End as well as the more traditional tourist sights.

The halls consist of three separate buildings with private single study bedrooms of 4/6 or 8 in self-contained flats with washbasins. The bathroom and kitchen/diner is shared only with the other occupants of the flat.

Situated on a pleasant paved piazza, this hall is ideal for the traveller wanting to get a real feel for the sights and sounds of London. There are good transport links to the West End and theatreland. The halls are also safe, clean and secure with friendly staff on hand to make sure your stay is happy and memorable.

With regret, children are not permitted at this residence as there is a limit to 1 person per bedroom and children are not allowed to stay in a bedroom by themselves.

Comfortable, clean room with desk, wardrobe and sink, plenty of storage too. There were two very clean shower rooms and a large equipped kitchen with big dining space. I know there were other residents there because there was new stuff appearing in the fridge, and I occasionally heard doors closed, but I didn't meet anyone over my 2 night stay: no queue for the bathroom and I had the kitchen to myself at breakfast times. The reception staff were very lovely. V. Positive experience

Great location for the price! Quiet at night (my visit was in July). Uni staff were very friendly accommodating and provided a fan for the room. Room was clean and spacious for a halls room, and the kitchen and bathrooms were super clean. Cleaners were friendly and efficient. Bed is old with a dip in the middle, but not unbearable. You can survive a few nights. Towel provided and complimentary soap bar! Would return and recommend without hesitation.

Really great. Hot rooms during the heatwave but no difference to anywhere else without Aircon and the fan was much appreciated. Not sure if we could drop off luggage before check-in as there was conflicting information so we didn't bother trying.

Everyone was very welcoming and kind, and also allowing me to store my bag till I could collect it later in the evening. It was the perfect place for a temporary stay before I move into a long-term location!

It is a really great place to stay , it was very hot , I asked for a fan which helped enormously- other than that it was fab . People on reception amazingly helpful

Fantastic stay here. Have used a few dorm rooms and this one was so much more comfortable (in spite of the heat) and pleasant than most of them. Will be back!

Receptionists were brilliant and friendly. Slightly missed not having a telly but didn’t expect one and had my tablet.

StuartM

Very helpful reception and really easy arrangements for access and checking out. I thoroughly recommend these rooms.

A good cheap accommodation. Pleased to have a sink in the room as well a save.
