Overview

This small family-run budget hotel which is superbly located, being only 5 minutes walk to Chester city centre and 5 minutes walk from Chester Station.

All bedrooms are ensuite and have tea and coffee making facilities, television with free view, radio, intercom, direct dial telephone and central heating. There are family rooms available and all children stay free of charge under 2 years old, maximum cot/crib in each room is 1. Please note although the hotel doors close at 11.00pm guests can request a key.

A full English breakfast is available to guests at an additional charge of £4.50 per person per night, add as upgrade when booking.


History

The Belgrave Hotel started life as the Washington Hotel (being renamed in 1979) and was re-opened by the current Duke of Westminster. The hotel has been extensively modernised but has managed to retain the character and charm of the original building, which is over 100 years old.

Food & beverage

A full English breakfast is available at £4.50 per person, per night, please add at the time of booking, and is served in the Olde Worlde dining room, which is also open to guests in the evening and serves an English Fayre table d'hote menu, and snacks are available during the day.

The relaxed atmosphere of the Regency Bar means guests can relax and unwind after a hard day's shopping or sightseeing, and there are many restaurants, bars and cafes within walking distance that offer a wide variety of cuisines.

The room could have done with a makeover. Didnt relly expect much for the price I paid. The staff I spoke to were polite & helpfull.
