Overview

A distinctive hotel in Windsor

De Vere Beaumont Estate's tale at Old Windsor is a very British one; a tale of democracy, royalty, education and religion. At its heart are a mansion dating back to the 18th century, a chapel, 75 event spaces and a white Georgian house in 40 acres of parkland.

The original house was built for Lord Weymouth but from 1854-1967 it was his time as a public school that saw much of the architectural changes in the estate.

Having followed a multi-million-pound renovation, nowadays you'll find a wealth of these original features still preserved as well as a 21st-century style that helps ensure business, weddings and training were anything but usual.

The new 1705 Restaurant & Bar is now open, serving great food from British suppliers, while the Executive Chef team is making restaurant-quality cuisine for a wide variety of events. The bedrooms are modern and stylish with some recently refurbished, and there are over 400 of them with luxury suites in The White House.

The hotel is just 3 miles from Windsor, minutes from J13 of the M25 and 15 minutes from Heathrow; Egham station is also 3 miles away with fast connections to London Waterloo and Reading. Windsor Castle, Windsor Great Park, LEGOLAND®, and Windsor Racecourse are also on the doorstep.

Free, superfast Wi-Fi with a maximum bandwidth of 1Gb is available throughout the hotel and up to 100 m within the grounds.

History

A new chapter

The earliest record of there being an estate at Beaumont was in the late 15th-century. Since then it has changed hands from lords and generals to dukes and duchesses and became known as Beaumont Lodge by the mid-18th-century. In 1789 it was remodelled to become the nine-bay white mansion house that still stands today, but it was its time as a public school, from 1854 - 1967, that saw most of the estate's architectural developments.

Today the estate has been completely transformed following a £12 million restoration project.

The renovation has seen the refurbishment of 220 bedrooms including the addition of 15 new luxury bedrooms in the property’s Wessex Old School House, alongside the communal areas and a new reception.

Whilst the estate's 45 meeting spaces, including the flagship Hanover Suite and iconic 19th-century chapel, also have been refreshed, with the latest AV technology added to embrace the company’s innovative Smart Space meeting concept.

The new 1705 Restaurant & Bar serves a mix of British and Italian classics using locally sourced ingredients, and in summer the adjoining Courtyard is available for alfresco dining, complete with a wood-fired pizza oven. Back in the original house, the project has also seen the addition of three characterful lounges; The Larder: a new Burr & Co. coffee lounge; The Parlour: a beautiful dining room where afternoon tea takes centre stage and The Pantry: an executive lounge area.

Guests can choose to dine in the light and airy, wooden-floored restaurant with its feature ceiling and rich materials including brass and leather or take drinks on the comfy sofas in the adjoining bar. Weather depending, the property's wood-fired pizza oven, in the hotel's new outdoor dining courtyard is good to go for lunch and dinner.

The Larder, the property's new Burr & Co. coffee lounge is now open, offering coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks, plus cakes and pastries to take away.

No stay would be complete without taking afternoon tea. Served daily in the property's beautiful new lounge, The Parlour, where floral patterns and comfy armchairs create a lovely space to relax, or outdoor in the courtyard in the summer months.

Conferences & meetings in Windsor

Just mins from J13 of the M25, 15 mins from Heathrow with train links to London, De Vere Beaumont Estate has over 75 event spaces for conferences, meetings and training, with 40 acres of grounds for team building.

The modern Hanover Suite, which has just finished an extensive renovation, offers a versatile space for larger conferences for up to 700 guests. Located in the main house, the suite has state-of-the-art technology and AV as well as it's own lounge area, that is also currently undergoing a refurbishment.

The Conference Village stands at the side of the main house and offers four suites including the Balmoral for up to 180. Over in the White House, The Remenham, The Roxburghe and The Barramundi are popular with event bookers looking for smaller spaces with their art-deco style and luxury finishes.

Back in the original house, the Buckingham & Wessex suites offer a range of rooms and are located close to The Chapel, the grandest of the spaces at the estate. Having recently completed a luxury refurbishment, the Chapel was built in the 19th-century, the painted, vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows create a unique setting.

Enhanced with 21st-century features, each space also offers intuitive, smart technology, superfast Wi-Fi with a maximum bandwidth of 1Gb up to 100 m from the hotel, nutritious food for well-being and a dedicated conference host.

A beautiful Windsor wedding venue

An 18th-century Georgian white house, a Romanesque style 19th-century Chapel and 40 acres of parkland marry together to create a leading wedding venue in Windsor.

The Chapel, built in 1870, features an ornate painted ceiling with exquisite stained glass windows including the Rose window and is an extremely popular choice with brides.

For more intimate weddings, up to 50 guests, the White House sits at the heart of the estate with bay windows looking out across the grounds. A separate entrance and reception create an exclusive feel and the house offers a number of wedding rooms along with luxury bedrooms and suites.

Larger weddings, for up to 550 guests, are ideally suited to the recently refurbished Hanover Suite, located in the main house. A modern space with floods of natural light, the suite has direct access to the Hanover Bar which opens out onto the patio – perfect for a drinks reception in the summer.

Menus will be curated by the Executive Chef and a dedicated team is on-hand throughout to deliver a day that is elegant, thoughtful and a true celebration of your relationship.
