Overview

Hintleshame Hall boasts 32 individually decorated bedrooms, some with four-poster or canopy beds, some timbered, some panelled, and each with its own fabrics, works of art, and a mix of antique and modern furnishings. Unique in style and full of character, the rooms are warm and inviting, and each features a deluxe ensuite.

In-room services include tea and coffee-making facilities, complimentary mineral water, free Wi-Fi access, smart TV's, direct-dial telephones, bathrobes (available on request), complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers. Ironing and a shoe-polishing service are available on request, and details of all other services offered at the Hall are displayed in the property's guest information folder.

History

Hintlesham Hall is a beautiful grade one listed building in Suffolk dating back to the 1400s, with a breath-taking Georgian front exterior and original features. Hintlesham Hall is situated just 10 minutes from Ipswich and an hour from the Stansted airport by car, and easily accessible via major trunk roads of the A12 and A14.

Hintlesham Hall is a historic building with traditional decor, used today as a plush 4 red star hotel serving award-winning cuisine. Extremely popular for weddings large and small, and an excellent site for corporate hire, the Hall is an impressive and versatile building.

Hintlesham Hall’s Head Chef, demands the best quality ingredients to build a well-balanced carte which appeals to gourmet and health-conscious alike. Many of the dishes encompass fresh herbs from Hall’s famous garden, and the property's extensive wine list ranges the world from France to Australia and includes a marvellous selection of half-bottles.

Head Chef Jon Cole is passionate about offering the best cuisine possible, appealing to all tastes and encompassing all dietary requirements.  The hotel have a full a la carte menu, the property also has the hotel's informal lounge menu (available daily from 7am to 10.30pm) offering lighter bites to enjoy in any of the hotel's lounges, bedrooms or within the property's beautiful gardens.

Other facilities

Spa-The Spa at Hintlesham is light and airy with sophisticated and understated décor. It comprises three soothing treatment rooms, manicure and pedicure stations, a relaxation lounge and a quaint outdoor terrace with a Jacuzzi.

Overnight guests and day guests can choose from a variety of leisurely activities during their stay at Hintlesham Hall. There is also an adjacent golf course a little further along the tree-lined drive leading to the Hall, which guests are welcome to use during their stay.

They are thrilled to announce a major milestone in their ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Hintlesham Hall has decided to join Hotels for Nature, a groundbreaking initiative empowering hotels to achieve climate-neutral status through reforestation.

While reducing their carbon footprint locally remains a priority, they recognise the need to do more.

From now on, for every booking received, Hintlesham Hall will plant mangrove trees and grow the hotel forest in Java, Indonesia.

Hintlesham Hall is located four miles west of Ipswich, Suffolk, within quick and easy reach of anywhere in East Anglia.

Hintlesham is just a few minutes’ drive from the A14 and A12 trunk roads. The drive from the M25 at Junction 28 takes about 50 minutes.

The train journey from London (Liverpool Street) takes 65 minutes with a short taxi ride to follow. Stansted Airport is an hour away and the ports of Felixstowe and Harwich are just 25 and 40 minutes by road respectively.

Travelling north-east on the A12, proceed towards Ipswich town centre at the A12/A14 interchange roundabout. Turn left at the second set of traffic lights onto the A1071. Continue over the next roundabout and you will enter Hintlesham village after about two miles. The entrance to the Hall is just past the church on the right-hand side.

Travelling south-east on the A14, take the Great Blakenham exit (B1113) and turn right towards Sproughton. Continue straight on and through Sproughton. At the next roundabout turn right onto the A1071 and enter Hintlesham as above.
