The Tamesis guest house aims to provide quality service and prides itself on its friendliness, to make guests' stay in Oxford an enjoyable experience. Offering accommodation during July, August and September, providing single, twin, double and family rooms with standard and en-suite facilities to suit most people's needs. Group bookings are most welcome.

Should guests wish to visit the main site at St Edmund Hall, it is open to Tamesis guest house residents throughout the summer where they can stroll through the College Quad and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the churchyard of St Peter-in-the-East. The College is located on Queen’s Lane just off the High St, and only a 10-minute walk from Tamesis Guesthouse which is situated on the Iffley Road.

Clean rooms with basic fixtures and fittings, but perfect for a young family visiting Oxford on a budget. Oxford is the hardest place to park in the world, so the fact that they offer parking spaces made the whole stay completely manageable. Recommended.

All the people at the reception were wonderful. We had an issue as to how to open the sink plug… (push it because it has a spring in it!) All were very helpful and friendly. Would stop again.

Luggage can be stored if guests arrive early or want to make the most of their last few hours in Oxford after check out.

Directions:

By Car: Situated on the Iffley Road: Sat Nav users please use the OX4 1ED postcode. There is a small car park available on a first-come-first-served basis at an addictional fee of £15 per day, payable upon check in. There is also a public car park with pay and display facilities within a 5-minute walk.

By Train: Walking from the station takes approximately 30 mins. Should guests have luggage to carry, it is suggested they take a taxi from outside Oxford Station. Alternatively, they could catch the No 5 bus and ask to be dropped off at the 1st stop on the Cowley Road. It is then a question of crossing the road, walking the short length to the end of Circus Street, and Tamesis Guest House is on the left.

By Air: Guests can take the Airline bus to Oxford and are advised to ask the driver to drop them off in St Clements then follow the direction of the bus until they reach the Plain Roundabout. They should then take the second exit on the roundabout (Iffley Road), walk for 200 metres and will find the residence on their left. Reception is just inside the front door.
