Overview

The Knighton Hotel: A Historic Hotel in the Heart of Knighton

Built in 1867, The Knighton Hotel is one of the most significant and magnificent hotels in Mid Wales, standing serenely and proudly in the heart of the ancient market town of Knighton on the hills of the Welsh Marches. Nestled among the notable hotels in Powys, The Knighton Hotel is a stone-built Manor House adjoining a half-timbered building, steeped in as much history as the town it graces, Knighton, also known as “The Town on Offa's Dyke."

The next-door wooden structure is believed to have its roots tracing back to a weatherboarded Coaching Inn initially built in the 16th century. Much effort has been made to restore and highlight the original features, such as the timbers belonging to the same era.

The stone building features a breathtaking and majestic red-carpeted staircase, one of a kind in the country, leading to the upper floor. The double-height ceiling and the galleried landing, together with stone walls in part and timber beams, add to the grandiose and exclusivity of the architecture. You'll find two timber decks at the back of the hotel, perfect for enjoying the building's beauty and historical charm.

You are invited to witness the beauty and history of this incredible building. The uncontested legacy, ideal location among hotels in Mid Wales, and many historical features of the hotel will undoubtedly make for a perfectly memorable stay in Knighton.

Guests can enjoy the convenience of an independent duplex apartment complete with a private kitchen, bathroom, living area, and 2 bedrooms.

The Knighton Apartment is a duplex apartment with two floors. The bathroom and two bedrooms are located upstairs, accessible via stairs.

• Please note that the lift is out of service for now.

* Regrettably, the Knighton Hotel does not provide laundry services for extended-stay guests.
