Tucked away in the idyllic surrounds of Camus Bay, experience the best of what Connemara has to offer at one of Ireland’s finest Victorian country homes, Screebe House.

Built in 1872 as a fishing lodge and lovingly restored by the Burkart family in 2010, Screebe House offers guests an experience of luxury comfort and effortless charm. With open fireplaces, high ceilings and heritage décor, Screebe’s elegant spaces evoke a sense of grandeur and provide the perfect setting to read a good book or savour a delicious glass of wine while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

Screebe, originating from the Irish word ‘scribe’ meaning destination, is ideally located for those who want to explore the stunning scenery of Connemara or partake in a wealth of activities available - including some of Ireland's best fly fidhing for salmon, and species of trout..

The elegant dining room at Screebe House offers spectacular views overlooking Camus Bay and a tempting choice of menus.

The casual fine dining menu has been carefully curated by the uber talented Chefs, who will take you on a culinary journey through the finest seasonal ingredients and local produce to create modern Irish contemporary dishes. The innovative dishes and natural creative flair often feature fresh fish caught on one of the estate rivers and lakes as well as venison from the land. The hotel is proud to say that most of the products used in the kitchen are organic and each item has been carefully researched and sourced with sustainability at the forefront. The hotel never use additives or preservatives in any of its cuisine.

Screebe offers a whole host of outdoor activities across 45,000 acres. Embrace your inner adventurer and take on one of the many hiking routes in the area, rent bikes directly from Screebe and explore the beautiful surrounds and embrace the serene beauty of Connemara. Experience one of Screebe's unique fly fishing and hunting expeditions or enjoy a round of clay pigeon shooting. Awaken your senses by jumping off the near by pier into the wild Atlantic followed by a warm sauna and a soak in the outdoor hot tub at The Spa Lodge. There is something for everyone to enjoy in the great outdoors at Screebe House and our dedicated team would be delighted to assist you.

The on-site Spa provies an oasis of calm and comfort. Adjacent to the house is a modern Spa Lodge, boasting an array of amenities and treatments for guests to unwind in a peaceful setting overlooking the beautiful Connemara landscape. An oasis of calm and comfort, the Spa Lodge features a heated indoor salt-water swimming pool, fitness area, a large sauna, seaweed baths, steam room, treatment room and an outdoor hot tub. After your swim, why not dive into the wild Atlantic from the pier and return to the warm comfort of the sauna which features a panoramic window view of Camus Bay.
