Overview

During term time, St Andrews is home to 285 residential students but rooms are available to be booked by the public during the New Year period.

Rooms range from single beds with shared bathrooms to double ensuite room facilities at an affordable rate.

The college is walking distance to bars and cafes and a short bus or train ride to the city centre.


Check in: 14:00 (2:00pm) - 17:00 (5:00pm) (arrivals may be allowed outside this window if your travel plans can't be adjusted however this is subject to availability)

History

The College, governed by its own elected Council, is situated within the campus of the University of Sydney. Set within its own picturesque grounds and courtyards, St Andrew's has offered residency, academic and social support to students for over 140 years. 

St Andrew's enables students to get the most out of a University education - a combination of intellectual independence, academic support through mentors and tutorials, social development through involvement in the Students' Club, participation in a wide range of sporting, philanthropic and cultural activities and the formation of life-long friendships.

A vast range of bars, cafes and restaurants are located walking distance along King Street & City Road, Newtown.

Other facilities

 Paid Wifi is available at a charge at reception.

Tea & Coffee facilities are provided in the Sitting Room behind the reception area.

Microwave and Fridge are also available in the sitting room.

Coin-operated laundry facilities are located in the Main Building. 

Ironing boards and irons are available in the laundry.

Guests are welcome to use the tennis court and oval.

Requests outside the above times need to be discussed with the college before arrival by email. 

AIR: From Kingsford Smith Airport Sydney take a train to Newtown Station then walk for 15 minutes or take a bus along King Street.

TRAIN: If you are coming from the city you can take a train to central and get a bus along Parramatta Road.

BUS: A regular bus service runs along Kings Street/City Road, Newtown. Bus numbers are 422,423,426 and 428 all go into the City and Circular Quay. Buses with these numbers may be caught from Castlereagh Street in the City or from Circular Quay to Newtown. Bus 412 from Missenden Road to Market Street and return is also available.

TAXI: Guests can catch a taxi directly at the Airport taxi stand to the College.
