There's something unmistakably regal about arriving at The Kings Head, with its iron-studded door, worn flagstone floors and a medieval fireplace that feels as though it belongs in a grand old hall. Step inside and you'll find a warm, characterful Yorkshire Dales inn where history, comfort and goof food come together.
At the heart of the pub is our impressive 10-foot blackboard menu, showcasing hearty home-cooked dishes made with local ingredients. Behind the pumps on the black granite bar, our friendly team offer a genuine Yorkshire welcome as they polish glasses and pour foaming pints of honest local beer.
Though steeped in history, the inn has been thoughtfully refreshed over time. A thick - carpeted staircase leads to six boutique bedrooms, each named after a monarch. Every room blends comfort and character with views across Upper Wharfedale, where stone cottages, limestone bridges and rolling Dales scenery create a picture-perfect backdrop.
Kettlewell itself sits where the River Wharfe meets Kettlewell Beck and is known for its charm, friendly community and its starring role in Calendar Girls. It's a wonderful base for walkers, offering everything from gentle riverside strolls to Starbotton to more invigorating hikes over the limestone ridge to Arncliffe - known to many as the original Beckindale from early episodes of Emmerdale.
Whether you're here for the food, the walking, the history or simply a peaceful escape in the Dales, The Kings Head offers warm hospitality, characterful surroundings and a memorable stay in one of Yorkshire's most beautiful villages.
