York Minster dominates the skyline and is only a ten minute stroll from Bowen House and remains at the heart of the city’s top attractions alongside the famous Shambles and National Railway Museum. Both the Minster and Shambles are surrounded by cobbled streets and alleyways enticing you to explore and enjoy. York has so much to offer, a diverse array of shops including antique and book dealers, craft shops, boutiques as well as all the high street names. If you really want some retail therapy there are three out of town shopping centres at Monks Cross, Vangarde and McArthur Glen. The City has many shady squares, gardens, tea rooms and riverside bars, to enjoy a relaxing drink or bite to eat. There are many hidden gems in and around the City that will delight you.
