Mill Dam Cottage is a quaint, self-catering, two- bedroom cottage in secluded surroundings on the southern side of Coniston. Due to the age of the property there are uneven surfaces, low ceilings, steep stairs and creepy floorboards. It is the perfect starting point to explore the Lake District, with footpaths from the front door and public transport nearby. Or you could just relax in the front and rear garden with chimenea and outdoor seating, enjoying the views over Coniston water and Grizedale forest. Away from the village, yet within easy walking distance to the pubs.
The cottage has been lovingly restored recently, maintaining much of its character and yet adding modern facilities: including log burner, TV, WiFi, DVD player, fully fitted kitchen with electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. There is an electric shower and towel rail in the bathroom, and a view over the lake from the main (front) bedroom. An initial supply of wood for the log burner is provided. The bridlepath to the top of Coniston Old Man passes close by and there are footpath links to the village and pubs. Coniston sailing Club is just down the hill, with day membership available if you wish to launch a sailing boat, electric boats are available from the boating centre accessed through the village.
