Situated in Central London in the famous Bloomsbury area where writers and artists have lived for centuries, Pickwick Hall is in an ideal position to explore London and its history. Also close to the West End, Covent Garden and Soho. The hostel is located in a quiet row of Georgian houses with a small garden. Most rooms are for two people and the dorms sleep a maximum of four, with a shower and a toilet for every four guests.
The buildings that now line Bedford Place were constructed in 1802-03 on the site of Bedford House that was demolished two years earlier. Bedford House was built and named Southampton House for Thomas Wriothesley, 4th Earl of Southampton in the early 1660's, just before the Great Fire that destroyed much of the City of London a mile to the East in 1666. In 1734, Southampton House was bought by the Duke of Bedford - a substantial landowner in this area - and renamed Bedford House.
Fully equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals. All the rooms also have a fridge and a microwave. Continental breakfast is included in your stay.

I had a great experience. Excellent hospitality. Good room facilities with a microwave and fridge and sink. Old building and needs upkeep, but comfortable room with breakfast provided and water always hot. One of the most peaceful and home-like hostels I've stayed at, perfectly located, fit and exceeded my requirements. Just don't all stay here so I can still get in!! DeletedD

A very good break for us. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Helpful obliging staff. Room very clean and tidy though some of fittings damaged. Eg window locks, lock to bathroom door. DeletedD

Very good location and all the facilities. It would be better if they changed the towels more frequently. I recommend it. DeletedD
