Built-in the late 1880s as two private residences using local Borrowdale slate from only a few miles away. The hotel incorporates many Victorian features such as balconies, turrets, bay windows, a veranda for your pre-dinner drink and even a converted chapel which is now a guest room "The Woodford Room".
Full English breakfast is included at this award-winning restaurant. Awarded by The Times newspaper (Squaremeal.co.uk) during May 2007 as one of the UK’s Top Ten most Scenic Restaurants. The restaurant has been awarded a Visit England Breakfast Award and for culinary excellence and service two coveted AA Rosettes; Highfield is the only restaurant or hotel in the town of Keswick to hold two coveted AA Rosettes. The dinner menu changes daily and is imaginatively prepared using the very best of fresh seasonal local produce and is served between 6.30pm-8.30pm.
