Magdalen College, Oxford

Convenient option for staying in Oxford for a couple of days, close to the city centre. Reasonable value for money. Pretty basic equipment/facilities. Strongly dependends who is living next door - a wall of two adjacent rooms is partly formed just by a wooden wardrobe. The facilities were well functional, although if some maintenance worker could grease the fire door hinges, it would be less noisy. The staff at the reception was very nice and accommodating.

The room and bed were comfortable. The room was located next door to bathroom and shower, and it had a beautiful view over the college grounds. Breakfast in the college Hall had excellent selection, and was very tasty. My overall experience was very favourable. The room offered excellent value for money (even among other colleges at Oxford, where I also stayed on other nights during the same trip).

The staff at Magdalen College were brilliant, storing our luggage before we checked in, showing me where I could safely park my bicycle within the College and also sorting out a mix up with our booking (which was my mistake). They did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and stress free. The rooms in Waynflete are basic but great value for a central Oxford location.

It was a very comfortable stay. I would recommend updating the booking site to note that not all rooms have laundry facilities.
