Mitten im Herzen von Cambridge gelegen, ist St. Catharine's der perfekte Ort für ein echtes Cambridge-Studentenerlebnis (die Zimmer werden während des Semesters von Studenten genutzt und in den Ferien Gästen angeboten).

Universitätsabteilungen, öffentliche Verkehrsmittel, Geschäfte und viele Touristenattraktionen von Cambridge sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar.

Alle Schlafzimmer verfügen über einen Schreibtisch und einen Schreibtischstuhl, Platz zum Aufhängen/einen Kleiderschrank, Stauraum/Schubladen, einen Spiegel, Handtücher, Bettwäsche und kostenloses WLAN.

Tee- und Kaffeezubereitungsmöglichkeiten stehen in der Küche in der Nähe Ihres Zimmers zur Verfügung. Um die Umweltbelastung zu reduzieren, sind in den Zimmern keine Toilettenartikel standardmäßig vorhanden. Sollten Sie welche benötigen, wenden Sie sich bitte an die Porters Lodge.

Standardzimmer: Diese Zimmer sind alle Einzelzimmer und verfügen über Gemeinschaftsbäder (normalerweise 6 Schlafzimmer pro Dusche), wobei alle Zimmer über einen eigenen Waschtisch/Schminkbereich verfügen. Die Zimmergröße kann variieren und liegt zwischen 13 und 17 m².

Zimmer mit eigenem Bad: Diese Zimmer verfügen über eine eigene Toilette und Dusche. Die Zimmergröße kann variieren: 13–17 m² für Einzelzimmer und 17 m² für Doppelzimmer.

Barrierefreiheit: Es gibt nur eine begrenzte Anzahl an Zimmern mit barrierefreiem Zugang. Erkundigen Sie sich daher vor der Buchung, ob dies erforderlich ist.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass alle Kinder unter 16 Jahren von einem Erwachsenen begleitet werden müssen, der im selben Zimmer übernachtet. Das College akzeptiert keine Unterkunftsbuchungen für Junggesellen- oder Junggesellinnenabschiede.

Geschichte

St Catharine’s is one of the oldest Colleges in Cambridge and is steeped in history: from the 17th-century buildings in Main Court, to stained-glass windows celebrating a visit by Queen Elizabeth II. . The College has its eyes on the future and has an ambition to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040 – all electricity has been from non-emitting energy sources since 2021.

St Catharine's College offers bed and breakfast rates include a full English and Contental breakfast served daily in the College Hall. Breakfast service is expected to be busy in the summer months and peak times are 8am to 9am. 

Room only rates: These rates do not include breakfast. There are several cafes and restaurants within a short walk.

Sherlock Court is a peaceful place to sit and unwind after a busy day of sightseeing in the City. Admire the oldest building in the College here, dating back to 1871.

Car parking is not available at the College. Please refer to the Cambridge Tourist Information Office for further details on parking options in Cambridge.

St Catharine's wi-fi password can be found on an information sheet in your bedroom. If you have any issues please ask at the Porters’ Lodge.

Bedrooms are serviced Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 15.00. If you do not wish to be disturbed, please leave the card provided outside on the hook.

St Catharine's is working hard to reduce the impact on the environment; towels are changed as needed and bed linen is changed on a weekly basis for longer stays; if you require an additional change please ask your Housekeeper.

A limited number of hairdryers and blankets are available from the Porters’ Lodge.

BUILDING WORKS- ** Please note that between 18th August and 26th September scaffolding will be in place in Dawson's Court to allow instilation of solar panlels on the roof space of some accommodation blocks **

The porter was helpful and let us store our suitcases in the lodge before our room opened up so that we could walk Cambridge. The room was clean and quiet and had a nice view over the rooftops. The breakfast was also surprisingly good! Plus you can't beat the chance to live like a student and explore inside of a college. Thank you for the experience!

Clean, convenient, in amazing setting, the experience of staying inside the college is lovely. Breakfast was of good quality. On the constructive side: The beds were not comfortable. The mattress has been well slept on and could do with a replacement. The shower could stay on a little longer.

Porter was super helpful. Clean accommodation and very close to everything I needed in town. Road noise, but totally to be expected in this part of the city. Great location for exploring the city. Check breakfast times as it can catch you out at the weekend - check out is 10am.

The staff in the canteen were exceptionally rude. Shower and toilet facilities were really dated and low quality. The room, whilst dated, was large and lovely dual aspect too. Porters were great

Quick check in. Able to leave bags on check out. Room was quiet and practical. Good to be able to enjoy college grounds. Very well located in centre. Breakfast very good.

On arrival report to the Porter's Lodge (located at the main entrance to the college), you will be given a key and directed to your room(s). It is generally possible to leave some bags in the small luggage room near the Porters Lodge if your arrival time is before 2pm and your room isn't ready. However please bear in mind that the college cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage to any personal belongings.

On departure please check out of your room by 10am. A late check-out charge of £30 will be applied to your booking if you check out after 10am but before 1pm. A full night rate will be charged if you check out after 1pm. 

During your stay, any questions should be directed to the duty porter at the Porters’ Lodge.

Arriving by road

From the M11, take either Junction 11 or 12 and follow into Cambridge city centre. Follow the signs for public parking, as St Catharine's regrets that parking is not available (except for loading and unloading, and other special circumstances). There are maps posted around the city which will help you find your way back to the College once you park. For more information on parking, see the Parking in Cambridge site.

Arriving by rail

To find information on train timetables serving Cambridge, please see the National Rail website. The College is about a 25-minute walk (just over a mile) from Cambridge Station.

Arriving by air

Cambridge Coach Services run an hourly bus service to and from Stansted, Luton, Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Railway service is also available from Stansted (for more information see Railtrack's web site or from the UK call National Rail Enquiries. 

Arriving by bus/coach

The National Express Bus Station is located at Parkside, Cambridge (CB1 1PN) and is within walking distance of the College. The Stagecoach City Centre Bus Stops are also nearby and located on Emmanuel Street, Drummer Street, and St Andrew's Street.
