Overview

Over the years Fence Gate has been lovingly and extensively modernised and extended which has transformed this beautiful 18th-century Georgian property to incorporate a traditional public bar, 102-seater brasserie. All the rooms are beautifully appointed and enjoy luxury fixtures and furnishings to make guests stay memorable.

The Fence Gate offers a range of rooms and suites consisting of comfy beds, espresso machine, en-suite walk-in shower, Villeroy & Bosch 'His & Hers' sinks, Basic Earth Botanicals toiletries of shampoo, conditioner, bath & shower gel.

History

Fence Gate is steeped in history and has a close relationship with Sir Jonas Moore who was ultimately responsible for the introduction of the Greenwich Mean Time, Pendle Witches who not only resided in the area and was alleged to have met in the area at Blacko Tower

Fence Gate offers a delightful bar and restaurant, a Full English/Irish breakfast is available each morning at Fence Gate Lodge for £15.00 per person. 

In 2016 Fence Gate was awarded the Guinness World Record for the ‘Most Gins Commercially Available’ that’s some 623 bottles and guests will see many of them displayed in Fence Gate today, now approximately 1000. 

Grounds & Gardens

Fence Gate has a lovely terrace to enjoy. It is also close to Barrowford Park, this was first awarded a prestigious Green Flag in 2008, and has maintained its flag ever since. The park has a bowling green, a war memorial and two children's playgrounds, and some outdoor fitness equipment.
