Overview

Nestled in the exclusive South Kensington neighbourhood, Prince's Gardens offer 722 stylish modern en suite single, double, and twin bedrooms.

Prince's Gardens is situated just five minutes walk to the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum. There are also two Tube stations within five minutes’ walk (South Kensington and Gloucester Road), providing access to London’s popular attractions. Harrods department store and the designer shops at Knightsbridge are 10 minutes' walk away.

Each of the bedrooms has free tea and coffee-making facilities as well as a private bathroom. Linen, towels and toiletries are provided.

History

Prince's Gardens is one of Imperial College London's student residences and is open to the public during the summer holidays and is a great choice for travellers interested in museums, parks and culture.

Imperial is a world top ten university, specialising in science, technology and business.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is available for pre-booking or walk-in payment in the Senior Common Room, which is a five-minute walk from Prince's Gardens.

Other snacks and light meals are available on campus throughout the day from various outlets.

Food and drink vending machines can be found on-site.

Eastside Bar and Restaurant

The Eastside Bar and Restaurant serves a delicious range of 'gastro-pub' style dishes perfect for lunch or dinner, as well as a superb range of ales and wines, teas and coffees. Conveniently located on the ground floor of the Eastside Halls of Residence, this venue is on the doorstep of any guest staying in Prince's Gardens.

Guests can enjoy the use of leafy Prince's Gardens, after which the accommodation was named. The Gardens offer a beautiful green tranquil space in the heart of central London. For those who want to venture out of the College grounds, Hyde Park is only a short walk away with vast green space and lake.

Excellent accommodation, superlative location, and without a doubt best value in central London. Rating of four rather than five stars for service only because you should make it clear in directions (otherwise excellent) that there is no step-free access from South Kensington tube station. This can be very important for guests with limited mobility or with heavier luggage. I fit into both categories, but knew the area well enough to take a taxi from Euston Station. Some others might not.

This one of the best University Rooms I have ever stayed in in London. I would just like to make one rather minor point. Although the room was serviced every day, I was not left with a spare toilet roll, even though I had actually left a note asking for one to be left. Extra soap tablets and shower gel and shampoo sachets were left every day, even though I was not short of these. I do think that you should leave spare toilet rolls as a matter of policy.

The whole booking and checking-in system worked very smoothly. The location could not be better for attending concerts nearby. The bedroom was perfectly adequate and what we had been expecting. Our only criticism was the bed which was really not comfortable. You could feel the springs every time you moved in bed.

Fantastic location. Clean snd well appointed and also very quiet. Only downside was the creaky/ noisy bed - the mattress was not as comfortable as we would have liked. We would stay again though perhaps for maybe only 2 or 3 nights.

Happy with the checking in and the room was good and clean. Only issue was the fire alarm sounding which was apparently from the neighbouring building? !! Would book again gladly!

Directions

Nearest Underground Station: South Kensington Station.

Directions: At South Kensington station, turn right into the subway sign-posted for the museums and continue for approximately five minutes until you reach the very end of the subway. At the exit, cross the road and turn left up Exhibition Road walking towards Hyde Park. Take the second side street on the right that is Watts Way, halfway along the path, you will see the entrance to the reception which is located in Falmouth Hall in Southside building on your right-hand side approaching from Exhibition Road.

Parking

Parking is offered on a first come first serve basis. Upon arrival, please report to Reception, where a member of staff will process your parking request and direct you to an available space.

London congestion charge and ULEZ

Although South Kensington is not in the congestion charge zone, if your journey passes through central London you are liable to pay the congestion charge, at a rate of £15.00 per day. The congestion charge operates. Monday to Friday: 07.00 – 18.00 Weekends and bank holidays: 12.00 – 18.00

Vehicles which do not meet the new ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) standards must also pay a £12.50 daily charge to drive within the zone. ULEZ operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
