Magpie Lane House (Oriel College), Oxford

Great location. Clean. Comfortable. Quiet. Tea and coffee provided which was nice (shortbread biscuits much appreciated). Showerhead leaked a fair bit where it joined the hose but had enough pressure and still worked well enough. Bathroom light and fan came on automatically by motion sensor - bit noisy in the middle of the night if trying not to disturb a sleeping partner but OK if you shut the door quick! Not cheap but in line with other central Oxford options. Overall good - would use again.

Absolutely fantastic! We loved the flat, we loved the location, the porters were friendly and helpful - couldn't have asked for more, frankly. Facilities in the flat - bathroom, kitchen - were great. The location was utterly charming, and - for somewhere so conveniently central - unbelievably quiet. We will remember our stay here for a long time - but we will be back!

The reception staff were wonderfully helpful and accommodating prior to and on arrival when we had a very tight schedule. Very friendly and welcoming. We were disappointed we couldn’t stay longer and hope to stay again one day. Thank you.

No AC. And it's a narrow stairwell to the top. So don't bring too much of luggage. In the summer, the hot air rises and stays on the top floor, where the bedroom is so you have to keep the windows open and the fan on the whole time.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was just as described. The spiral staircase up to the room was very narrow but we managed when we took two trips to carry out luggage.
