We stayed as a family and it was superb. We weren't looking for much more than a bed for the night, but ensuite rooms, great location, historic building and then a superb breakfast. The staff were super friendly as well. Durham Castle, Durham

The room had a weird smell that was slightly uncomfortable. Otherwise it was clean and the bed had a very comfortable mattress. I have coeliac disease and felt very safe eating at LMH. The food was delicious. Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford
